Child safety in the car includes appropriate child car restraints to keep children safe inside cars, find out more on ACCC Product safety which includes recalls of products that do not comply to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) mandatory child restraints standard.

The Standards Australia technical committee CS-085 Child restraints in motor vehicles has been revising the Australian/New Zealand standard, AS/NZS 1754:2010 Child restraints for use in motor vehicles with a number of changes including expanded requirements for occupants with disabilities and medical needs, to provide clear requirements for variations to child restraints to cater for specific disabilities. Standards Australia encourages views and input from a wide cross section of the public on a draft publication during the Public Comment stage.
