Energy regulator requests stakeholder submissions after draft and review release

The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) recently released the Review of the AER and draft exemption policies for energy networks, retailers, and for customers who may be affected by family violence (based on the advice of Safe and Equal). Submissions are due COB Monday, 28 April 2025, the guidelines for submissions are available on the AER’s website and are also detailed bellow.

Submissions

We invite stakeholders to make submissions on our draft guidelines by COB, Monday, 28 April 2025.

We prefer that all submissions are in Microsoft Word or another text readable document format. Submissions on the draft guidelines should be emailed to AERexemptions@aer.gov.au with the subject heading ‘Submission on Draft Retail Exempt Selling Guideline and Draft Network Exemptions Guideline (version 7)’.

We prefer that all submissions be publicly available to facilitate an informed and transparent consultative process. Submissions will be treated as public documents unless otherwise requested. Parties wishing to submit confidential information should: 

  • clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
  • provide a non-confidential version of the submission in a form suitable for publication.
