CFA has been invited to make nominations for membership of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Board. The Board is an independent expert body responsible for ensuring that FSANZ meets its statutory functions and achieves its objectives under the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991.
Nominees must have a good knowledge of consumer rights and consumer affairs policy in Australia. It is expected that applications will clearly demonstrate how you meet the criteria set out in the FSANZ Act for member appointments and outline your areas of expertise. Favourable consideration is given to nominees who clearly demonstrate certain criteria including: eminence and standing; a knowledge of boards and the standards setting process; an understanding of governance issues; a demonstrated capacity to undertake tasks; a clear independent role from a current regulator (government); and an ability to make decisions independently of any organisation or body.
