International Volunteer Day – December 5 2024

International Volunteer Day

International Volunteer Day (IVD) is a global celebration highlighting the vital role volunteers play in addressing the world’s challenges and highlights the power of volunteering to strengthen communities and create positive change. Consumers Federation of Australia (CFA) uses the opportunity to acknowledge and shine a light on the important work of volunteers. CFA depends on the volunteers who represent CFA on Standards Australia Technical Committees, as part of the CFA Standards Project, and on a range of Government and Industry bodies, find out more here.

With millions of volunteers across Australia , this day is an opportunity to celebrate their remarkable contributions and acknowledge the profound impact they have nationwide. Interested in volunteering, find out about volunteering opportunities near you.  This year, there isn’t a single theme, but the emphasis is on how volunteers contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.  This year’s International Volunteer Day resources, developed by UN Volunteers, inspire us to recognise, thank, and elevate the essential work of volunteers everywhere. Resources are available via the International Volunteer Day 2024 Trello Board.
