The Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) is developing their priorities for 2025-26 and is inviting interested parties to complete a short survey to share “new or emerging risks, issues or practices that you believe are concerns and causing harm to consumers or leading to poor outcomes”. The survey is open from 2/12/2024 to 7/02/2025 and survey submissions are intended to be published on the BCCC’s website but respondents can note in the survey if they would prefer that their survey response remains private.
Additionally, please take into account that the BCCC uses their Priority Monitoring Framework to focus their resources and, starting 28 February 2025, will be under a new Banking Code which “contains new promises to improve customer outcomes, particularly in the areas of vulnerability, inclusivity, financial difficulty and debt collection”.
Consumers’ Federation of Australia encourages all interested consumers and consumer advocates to participate in the survey.
