We take this opportunity to thank all the Consumers Federation of Australia Standards representatives for their hard work and achievements on the Standards Australia Technical Committees and international standards committees.
World Standards Day promotes the role of standards in meeting the needs of consumers, industry, business and government. This year’s theme is “Standards make cities smarter” and every city faces its own challenges and requires its own mix of solutions. Standards provide a large choice of products and services to assist with building a smart city, read more here.
World Standards Day is held on 14 October each year and has been recognised worldwide since 1970. It pays tribute to the thousands of volunteers around the world who participate in standardisation activities. Standards provide the foundation and guidance for all aspects of city life. Here is this year’s winning video entry on how standards bring benefits to smart cities.
Consumers can influence standards by becoming a Consumers’ Federation of Australia representative on a Standards Australia Technical Committee, making public comment on draft standards and suggesting new standards, more here.
CFA provides volunteer representatives on Standards Australia Technical Committees as part of the CFA Standards Project.
