The Standards Australia Young Leaders Program is an initiative designed to bring together Australia’s upcoming expert engineers, technicians and managers. The program provides an opportunity to become involved in the national and international standardisation and conformity assessment frameworks shaping Australian industry. Standards Australia is inviting 10 young professionals (mid 20s to mid 30s) to participate in the 12 month program which will provide training and direct exposure to the Standards development process, in order to develop the skills required to be successful in the technical committee environment. As a Young Leader, they receive formal training in drafting standards and understanding conformity assessment, as well as negotiation and leadership skills. Participants will also be paired with a mentor and have the opportunity to attend relevant technical committee meetings for active standards development projects.
