International Volunteer Day (IVD) on 5 December 2025, raises awareness of the important role volunteers play in responding to challenges facing the world. The theme ‘Every contribution matters’ celebrates the power of collective action and acknowledges that every act of volunteering, big or small, contributes to a stronger and more connected world. The Day highlights the profound impact of volunteerism in fostering social cohesion, promoting sustainable development, and addressing various challenges faced by communities globally. It also aims to inspire and encourage more people to engage in volunteer work, recognising the transformative power of collective action and solidarity in creating a better world for all. Consumers Federation of Australia (CFA) uses the opportunity to acknowledge and shine a light on the important work of volunteers. CFA depends on the volunteers who represent CFA on Standards Australia Technical Committees, as part of the CFA Standards Project, and on a range of Government and Industry bodies, find out more here.
