World Standards Day is on Monday 14 October 2013.
This year’s theme of “International standards ensure positive change” recognises today’s complex environment with standards as powerful tools to lead positive change by detailing specifications that can open up global markets, create enabling business environments, spur economic growth and help mitigate and adapt to climate change.
World Standards Day has been recognised worldwide since 1970; it raises awareness and recognises the achievements and efforts of thousands of volunteers around the world who develop technical agreements that are published as standards. Standards facilitate innovations and foster practices that increase the health and safety of the world and its citizens. Australian consumers can be assured that the products and systems they use are safe and reliable thanks to an objective, rigorous set of standards.
We take this opportunity to thank all the hard work of the volunteer CFA representatives on the Standards Australia Technical Committees.
