Energy Regulator seeks expressions of interest

The Australian Energy Regulator seeks expressions of interest for Consumer Challenge Panel members

The Australian Energy Regulator is establishing a Consumer Challenge Panel (CCP). The CCP is designed to enhance the AER’s decision making through increased engagement with consumers. Individuals appointed to the CCP will assist to incorporate consumers’ interests in the decisions the AER makes regarding energy networks’ revenues and prices. The CCP will be internal to the AER, providing advice as part of its assessment of energy network businesses’ spending and regulatory proposals.

The AER is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals to apply to be members of the CCP. CCP members will be appointed by 1 July 2013 for a term of three years and will be paid for their services. Individuals with regulatory or energy (or similar regulated utility sector) experience and expertise should consider applying.

Applications must be received by 5:00pm AEST on Monday 29 April 2013.
