The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has appointed a Review Panel to conduct an independent review of the 2020 General Insurance Code of Practice. As part of this, the ICA is providing resourcing to the Consumers Federation of Australia (CFA) for the preparation of joint consumer submissions and engagement with the review.
CFA is seeking expressions of interest from its membership to conduct this project. The successful organisation would be required to:
- Consult with other CFA members and consumer groups to inform submissions
- Draft and coordinate submissions to each stage of the independent review process
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings and discussions with the Review Panel
The resourcing provided by ICA to CFA is $23,750 plus GST, and will be provided in phases in line with the phased approach to the review.
If you are interested in undertaking this project, please respond through a short Expression of Interest, of no more than 1 page, outlining:
- Your organisational capacity to undertake this project, and who will lead the work;
- Your approach to consultation with other consumer groups (including and beyond CFA members, for example, those that represent First Nations people, physical and mental well-being interests, people with disabilities, and the LGBTIQA+ community); and
- Any example(s) of previous recent joint consumer group submissions.
The successful organisation should be available to attend a meeting with the Review Panel and other consumer advocates who are members of ICA’s Consumer Advisory Committee, scheduled for 14 March 2024, 4.15-5.00pm.
Please send expressions of interest to info@consumersfederation.org.au by c.o.b. Thursday 7 March 2024. If this date is difficult, please contact CFA Chair Gerard Brody at chair@consumersfederation.org.au or 0415 223 211.
