Safer Internet Day: “Together for a better internet”

Safer Internet Day is an annual, worldwide event to help encourage a better internet, with this year’s theme ‘Together for a better internet’ encouraging individuals to create a better internet by developing four, critical skills – Respect, Responsibility, Reasoning and Resilience. The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is the official Committee for Safer Internet Day in Australia—responsible for driving the initiative nationally. See more here.

Consumers International has published a blog on building a safe digital playground for children – highlighting the need to create a better digital world where children can be safe online and use technology that supports and empowers them.  

Consumers Federation of Australia participates in standards development, ensuring the consumer voice is heard via the CFA Standards Project with a representative on Standards Australia Technical Committees IT-042 Internet of things.
