The NSW Privacy Commissioner is pleased to announce that Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is on from 29 April to 5 May this year.
PAW is an opportunity for Privacy Commissioners throughout the Asia Pacific region to raise awareness of privacy issues in government and throughout the region.
The theme for PAW 2012 is how to protect personal information while engaging with social media, with a focus on secondary school students, parents and teachers. There will be information about events and resources on the PAW website shortly.
In the meantime the Commissioner encourages individuals to come up with ideas about how to raise awareness about online privacy. Agencies may wish to think about ways to improve awareness and compliance with NSW privacy laws.
