Australian Energy Regulator seeking membership for Consumer Consultative Group

Australian Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking expressions of interest for membership to their Consumer Consultative Group (CCG).

The CCG works to advise and assist the AER on problems that can impact small energy consumers, such as residential and business customers who consume under the relevant usage threshold set by the National Energy Retail Law jurisdiction. The CCG’s main role is to advise on pertinent energy consumer issues that effect groups which members represent.

This forms an imperative component of the AER’s consultative processes and also places emphasis on the AER’s functions under the National Energy Retail Law as well as the National Energy Retail Rules.

Membership to the CCG will also involve implementation and involvement in a forum where organisations will discuss current energy issues with consumer representatives.

The CCG meet three months every year in Melbourne. The first meeting for new members will be in July 2017.

If you’re interested and have a good understanding of Australian energy consumer issues, CFA encourages you to apply for membership.

Applications addressing the selection criteria must be received by 5:00pm AEST on Monday, 13 March 2017.

Applications can be emailed to sends e-mail). All applications received will be acknowledged by return email.

The AER’s preference is for applications to be submitted by email. However, applications by post will also be accepted and can be sent to:
