Consumer Representative Opportunity: AFIA Buy Now Pay Later Code of Practice Code Compliance Committee

The Australian Finance Industry Association seeks a consumer representative to sit on its Code Compliance Committee (CCC) for the new Buy Now Pay Later Code of Practice (the Code).

The Code is being developed by the AFIA Buy Now Pay Later Providers Group to assist them to:

  • Promote a customer-centric approach to the design, marketing and distribution of a Buy Now Pay Later Product or Service;
  • Promote high industry standards of service for customers and build best practices across the BNPL Industry; and
  • Support compliance with legal and industry obligations.

The CCC is responsible for the independent administration and enforcement of the Code. It will meet at least four times per year. The consumer representative will be appointed for a three-year term and will be remunerated.
