ACCC issues guidance on fibre and cable broadband ‘speed’ claims
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission published an Information Paper in July to assist providers of hybrid fibre-coaxial (HFC) and fibre to the premises (FTTP) broadband internet services in complying with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Scammers target VIPtel Mobile customers
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is warning current and former VIPtel Mobile customers to not respond to any phone calls offering them a refund in exchange for payment of a fee. For more information see the ACCC website.

Mobile premium service providers penalised $375,000
The Federal Court in Sydney has imposed penalties totalling $375,000 against two Australian companies, Global One Mobile Entertainment Ltd and 6G Pty Ltd for false and misleading advertisements for mobile premium services. For more information see the ACCC website.
